Product Information

Tillandsia schiedeana is found naturally in semi-arid areas in Mexico, Central America, Venezuala, West Indies, and Colombia, where it grows naturally on cacti on steep dry slopes at elevations of approximately 200 to 1700 meters. This air plant has a unique form with thin and stiff whitish-green leaves that grow sideways from the center spike of the plant. Once it grows into a clump, the leaves intertwine to form an attractive sphere. It is named after the botanist Christian Julius Wilhelm Schiede.

T. schiedeana produces a cherry-red flower spike with bright yellow tubular flowers.

It prefers a bright and sunny environment, can grow to a height and width of 15 cm or more, and require moderate light and moderate watering (spray once or twice a week).
