Product Information

The "King of airplants" is the perfect tillandsia for ornaments, cups or bowls of any kind, or to simply sit on its own on a coffee table or a desk. With its strong silvery leaves, T. xerographica is a show stopper, and a must for every proper tillandsia collection! The twisty silvery gray leaves of this xerophyte are wide at the base, tapering to a point making an attractive, sculptural rosette, 90 cm or more in diameter, and over a meter high when flowering. Put on a raised mount its bottom leaves form striking long downward spirals. It produces violet flowers that can last for months.
It inhabits dry forests and thorn scrub at elevations of 140-600 m in southern Mexixco, Guatamala and El Salvador, growing epiphytically on the highest branches, where it receive intense lighting.

T. xerographica can handle some direct sun, requires less water than many other varieties, and needs to dry quickly after watering.
